We continuously work towards developing a holistic approach to education. To enhance this further, we would like to focus on self-development. I will be conducting two free workshops this term related to life skills. Life skills are abilities for adaptive and positive behaviour that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life.
Life skills enable individuals to translate knowledge, attitudes and values into actual abilities; knowing "what to do and how to do it". It contributes to our perceptions of self-efficacy, self-confidence and self-esteem. Life skills therefore play an important role in the promotion of mental well-being.
The workshops lined up for this term are Mind Mapping and Growth Mind Set. It is open to Year 5 and Year 6 students and will be held on the following Fridays after school (from 2 pm to 3.30 pm) in the Interact Room.
1st March: Mind Mapping
8th March: Growth Mind Set
The maximum student intake is 20, based on a first come, first served basis.
I personally believe that these skills are important and will help our students to handle life with greater confidence. The skills learned will enable students to become responsible individuals with better self-worth. Students can attend both workshops or choose one only. To register for the workshops, please email me at counsellor_sb@elc.edu.my before 23rd Feburary. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to write to me. Together we can foster a change within our elc family.
Warm regards
